How does PDF compression work here?
Strong mode renders every page with PDF.js and re-embeds it as a JPEG at the resolution and quality you choose. It shrinks scanned and image-heavy PDFs dramatically, but text becomes part of the image and is no longer selectable or searchable.
Lossless mode rewrites the document with compressed object streams. Savings are smaller, but nothing about the content changes. Both modes run entirely in your browser.
