Extract text from PDF files
Pull all the text out of a PDF — reports, e-books, invoices, papers — and copy it or save it as a plain .txt file. Lines are rebuilt from the position of each word on the page, and you can optionally join wrapped lines back into paragraphs. The PDF is read with Mozilla's PDF.js in your browser and never uploaded.
Why is the output empty?
Scanned PDFs contain pictures of pages, not text. Convert the pages to images with PDF to Images and then use Image OCR to recognise the text.
