Why is my code not formatting?

Prettier has to parse your code first, so a syntax error (a missing bracket, a stray comma) stops formatting. The error message shows the line and column — fix it there and the output updates automatically. Make sure the selected language matches your code.

Yes — this page runs the official Prettier 3 standalone build. Each language's parser is downloaded the first time you use it, and your code never leaves your device.
