A strong password generator that never sees your passwords
Passwords are generated on your device with the browser's cryptographically secure random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues) using rejection sampling, so every character is equally likely. Nothing is sent over the network or stored.
How strong is strong enough?
Strength is measured in bits of entropy: length × log2(alphabet size). 60+ bits resists online guessing, 80+ bits is strong, and 100+ bits is excellent even against offline attacks. A 20-character password using all character sets gives about 130 bits.
Password or passphrase?
Passphrases like Ocean-Velvet-Tiger-Ladder-42 are easier to remember and type. Each word from our list of ~2,000 common words adds about 11 bits, so five words plus a number give roughly 58 bits — use six or more words for important accounts.
